If you know me well, one thing you know is I am not a spontaneous person. I do not prefer last minute, day-of plans. I am an extreme advocate of organization and detailed plans. So it would come as a surprise to others (and even myself) that I have been quite spontaneous the past week. I made a couple of last minute decisions and they led to some amazing blessings. Let me tell you all about it.

Tuesday I was working out in service with the group. We were having an awesome morning doing search work!
After we finished preaching everyone was ready to leave the mall. As we were about to leave I decided at the last minute to stay in the mall and shop by myself. (I had some serious souvenir shopping to do) The mall I was in is called Terminal 21. It’s designed like an airport and each floor is decorated like a different destination. It’s huge.
Rome was my favorite floor. π
Yay for spontaneous mall adventures. There’s no doubt that Jehovah helped me find the deaf that day. Onward to more last minute decisions & subsequent blessings…
Wednesday of this week 2 of the girls in my group decided to buy plane tix to Chiang Mai ( northern Thailand) and even though it was super last min I was ready to join them. So the 3 of us flew on AirAsia & an hour later we were in Chiang Mai! We booked a few nights at an apartment when we landed. It was really nice.!
That night we wanted to go to the Chiang Mai English cong because it was the closet to us. So we did our research, mapped it out, asked questions, followed directions from a sister’s blog who lives here and….
….still winded up getting lost. ππΌ After 20 mins of searching I started to pray to Jehovah that he lead us to someone who could guide us to the Kingdom Hall. SECONDS later…I saw a little girl on the corner of the sidewalk reading a magazine in Thai!
I couldn’t believe it! We asked her if she knew where the Hall was but she didn’t. She sent us to her mother who gave her the magazine to read.(Get ready to see the domino effect) The mother sent us to get a taxi. The 5 taxi drivers we asked had no idea where the address of the KH was. That prompted us to retrace our steps and go back in the opposite direction. We saw several tuktuk drivers standing around and asked them if they knew how to get to the KH address. Turns out only 1 of the drivers knew! He said, “Christians? Yes. I know where the place is 1 million percent.” (So much conviction lol) He took us straight there. Yay.
Jehovah blessed our efforts &helped us get to the hall. We were so happy we made it! We met great friends.
One of the sisters I met at the cong is named Alana. She’s from Oregon and moved here abt 2 months ago. She is so encouraging. (Top righthand pic.)
My spontaneous visit to Chiang Mai also allowed me to do more wild animal encounters & bucket list activities. We went to the Monkey Centre where monkeys are trained to do tricks.
The next day Lele & I went zip lining! (Another check on my bucket list π) It was amazingggg despite the rain!
The next day we left Chiang Mai. When we were waiting at the airport we saw a deaf Thai woman signing to a man. Lele approached them and was able to give a witness and explain why we’re learning TSL. Jehovah has definitely been guiding us to the deaf while we’ve been here! So as you can see, our last minute trip to Chiang Mai has truly been a blessing. We met amazing friends from the cong, made epic vacation memories & preached to the deaf.!
So whether I’m doing last minute shopping at the mall or booking a flight in a hurry the point is this: Spontaneity has become my new friend this week and I’ve been enjoying it along with the awesome blessings Jehovah has sent my way.
